Questions about Bunkers and Shelters

Answer: A shelter is a specially constructed space designed to protect people from external threats. This includes reinforced doors, ventilated air systems (e.g., NBC filtration), emergency power supply, and communication systems. Shelters are engineered to provide safety in cases of intrusion, explosions, or chemical/biological hazards.

Answer: A bunker is suitable when long-term protection is required, such as during natural disasters, large-scale power outages, or elevated threat scenarios. It provides space for multiple occupants, supplies, and emergency equipment. Feasibility depends on location, property conditions, building type, and individual security requirements.

Answer: Yes, provided that the necessary site conditions and structural requirements are met.

Answer: The selection depends on your building, security requirements, and intended use. We provide individual consultation, considering size, location, structural conditions, and personal needs. The objective is a secure, practical, and long-term solution.

Answer: This depends on the bunker’s size, particularly air supply capacity and food storage. Official guidance recommends approximately 1.3 m² per person.

Answer: The bunker or shelter can be connected to the main power grid. However, an independent emergency power supply is strongly recommended, for example through dedicated electrical backup systems.

Answer: The bunker or shelter can be connected to the water network. Alternatively, supply via wells or water storage systems is also possible.

Answer: Installation is technically supervised by our personnel, and delivery is handled discreetly.

Answer: All BSSD bunker systems are delivered with warranty coverage. Additionally, we offer optional maintenance contracts to ensure the functionality of technical systems and ventilation.

Answer: Our shelter and bunker systems comply with national and international security standards, including certified resistance classes for ballistics, blast impact, and chemical hazards. In particular, our systems include BABS approvals based on Swiss standards, among the most stringent in Europe. Detailed certifications can be provided upon request.

Answer: Yes, we operate a demonstration bunker in Berlin for inspections and consultations (completion scheduled for Q3 2026).

Questions about Panic Rooms

Answer: A panic room is typically smaller, designed for short-term use, and can be integrated into existing buildings. It protects occupants against intrusion, assault, or limited threat scenarios. A bunker is larger, designed for autonomous operation, and intended for longer stays with comprehensive supply systems and a higher level of protection.

Answer: In principle, yes. This depends on the structural integrity of the building.

Answer: Yes, various options are available, such as mobile networks or CB radio.

Answer: No, we offer multiple concealment and cladding options.

Answer: Our panic rooms are manufactured according to customer requirements using different materials. Optimal protection is achieved through the use of armored steel, which is resistant to ballistic impact and blast forces.

Answer: The panic room can be connected to the main power supply. However, an independent emergency power system is recommended, for example via dedicated electrical backup components.

Answer: Installation is technically supervised by our personnel, and delivery is handled discreetly.

Answer: The selection depends on the available space, number of occupants, and required level of protection. We assess whether integration into existing rooms is feasible and recommend suitable materials and equipment based on your requirements.

Answer: All panic rooms are delivered with a manufacturer’s warranty. Additionally, we offer regular maintenance and security checks to ensure the functionality of doors, ventilation, and communication systems.

Answer: Our panic rooms comply with certified resistance classes (intrusion protection), ensuring maximum safety for occupants and assets.
