Additional ballistic reinforcements

The additional ballistic reinforcement from BSSD selectively increases the protection level of existing safe rooms in a standards-compliant way. Custom-made armored steel panels made of 8 mm ARMOX 500 provide reliable protection up to VPAM protection class 7 against ballistic impact, explosive effects, and forced entry. By combining armored steel with existing masonry, a high-performance retrofit protection system for security-critical areas is created. Enhanced protection for bunkers, safe rooms, and security-critical areas

Our additional ballistic reinforcements made of armored steel are designed to selectively increase the protection level of existing safe rooms, bunkers, and security-critical spaces. The custom-made armored steel panels are individually planned and precisely adapted to the structural conditions.

As standard material, ARMOX® 500 with a thickness of 8 mm is used – a high-strength armored steel with excellent ballistic and mechanical protection properties.

Ballistic protection performance

The armored steel panels provide a high level of resistance against various threat scenarios:

VPAM 7 protection class (protection level 7)
Protection against 5.56 × 45 mm to 7.62 × 51 mm NATO ball ammunition
Protection against explosive attacks
High resistance against mechanical penetration and cutting/welding attempts
Pressure- and tension-resistant construction for absorption of shock waves

In combination with the existing masonry, the sandwich construction of wall structure and armored steel creates a particularly high-performance ballistic protection system.
