The Dräger PARAT® 5500 fire escape hood was developed together with users and is consistently designed for rapid self-rescue in the event of a fire. It supports people in leaving hazardous areas quickly and safely. During escape, it protects the wearer for at least 15 minutes against toxic fire gases, vapors, and particles.
The integrated CO-P2 combination filter meets the requirements of EN 403:2004. In addition, the filter has been tested for use against H₂S according to DIN 58647-7. For this reason, the Dräger PARAT® 5500 is suitable for industrial facilities, public buildings, and critical infrastructures.
Ready for Escape in Just Three Steps
The Dräger PARAT® 5500 enables intuitive operation, allowing even untrained users to act safely in an emergency. As soon as the user opens the packaging, the filter plug is automatically released. The system then moves the filter independently into the operating position. Afterwards, the user puts on the hood and leaves the danger area.
The elastic inner head straps securely fix the hood in place. This eliminates the need for additional adjustment and saves valuable time.
Reliable Protection
The combination filter reliably protects against:
-
Carbon monoxide (CO)
-
Toxic fire gases
-
Vapors
-
Solid and liquid particles (P2)
In addition, two filter plugs seal the filter gas-tight during storage. This ensures that the filtration performance is maintained throughout the entire service life.
Long Service Life and Cost Efficiency
After eight years, the user replaces the filter. This extends the total service life to up to 16 years. Consequently, maintenance and replacement costs are significantly reduced. After appropriate instruction, the filter replacement can be carried out easily and safely.
This does not apply to the PARAT® 5550, for which a replacement set is required.
Robust and Flexible Use
The Dräger PARAT® 5500 combines robust packaging with ergonomic design. Depending on the operational environment, the device can be worn on a belt, over the shoulder, or with a clip. Alternatively, the escape hood can be mounted on a wall. At the same time, the housing protects the device against external influences.
