Pressure Doors for shelters
Our pressure doors for safe rooms and protective structures comply with all technical requirements of the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Protection (BZS). They have been tested by the BZS and officially approved for structures requiring a protection level of 1 to 3 bar reflected pressure. They ensure a secure closure and make a significant contribution to the structural integrity of the protective structure.
Typical applications include civil and governmental safe rooms, private bunker systems, critical infrastructure, industrial and utility buildings, as well as special-purpose structures with increased security requirements.
The pressure doors and covers are used for:
- Access points through bunker areas
- Airlocks
- Emergency exits
- Openings in internal partition walls
They are therefore suitable for all security-relevant zones within protective facilities.
The pressure doors are designed to provide a reliable closure during explosions, pressure waves, and CBRN-related hazards. They prevent the penetration of pressure, hazardous substances, smoke, and contaminated air, thereby protecting people, infrastructure, and equipment inside the safe room.
Construction & Structure
- Fixed threshold, installable on the left or right side
- Masonry frame made of angle steel with anchor plates for a secure and stable connection
- Door leaf with groove and sealing rubber for a pollutant-resistant and airtight closure
- Welded reinforcement structure to increase pressure resistance and stability
- Lever locks for simple operation and secure locking
- Locking protection for pressure-resistant and tamper-resistant closure
- Anti-corrosion primer for long-term corrosion protection
Technical Data
The pressure doors are available in two versions (DT1 and DT2) and differ in clear opening size and weight. Both variants meet identical protection and approval requirements.
Intermediate closure: 1 bar / 3 bar
Clear opening: 80 × 185 cm (DT1) or 100 × 185 cm (DT2)
Weight: approx. 115 kg without concrete for DT1; approx. 125 kg without concrete for DT2
All pressure doors supplied by BSSD are manufactured and tested according to the guidelines of the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Protection (BZS). Depending on the design and type, the doors have valid BZS approval.
Approvals (depending on manufacturer): BZS SR 08-709, BZS SR 11-701
The respective approval depends on the construction type, design, and intended application. BSSD ensures that only tested and approved door systems for safe rooms and protective structures are used.
